Topic-icon Is Freelancing Still Worth Starting Today?

Lately, I’ve been thinking about trying freelancing as a way to earn extra income, but the amount of information online is honestly overwhelming, every guide seems to recommend a different path, from virtual assistance and content writing to design and web development, some people say it’s easier than ever to find clients, while others claim the competition is much tougher than it used to be, what caught my attention is that many successful freelancers seem to focus on building a specific skill first rather than chasing every opportunity available, I’m also curious about practical topics like setting rates, creating a portfolio without much experience, and finding reliable ways to receive payments from international clients, for those who started recently, what were the biggest challenges during your first few months, and what advice would you give someone using a Philippine freelancing guide to get started on the right track?

If you’re trying to understand how freelancing actually works in the Philippines, it usually starts much simpler and messier than most people expect, I was in the same situation just trying to figure out where to even begin and what actually matters when you’re starting out, while reading through Philippine freelancing guide , I realized how important it is to understand not just finding clients, but also pricing, positioning, and building real long-term stability, It made me see freelancing less like quick online jobs and more like a proper career path with structure and strategy, after that, I started looking at opportunities differently and focusing more on skills that actually bring consistent work instead of random gigs.
