I have a slow leak under my sink. Now the cabinet floor is soft and smells musty. Has anyone ignored a small plumbing issue and ended up with a much bigger expensive problem? How bad did it get before you finally called someone?

I ignored a small drip under my kitchen sink for eight months. It did not seem like a big deal. Then one day I opened the cabinet and the floor was completely rotted. The smell was awful. I had to replace the whole cabinet and the subfloor underneath. Cost me over a thousand dollars. All because I did not tighten a nut or call someone. I later found a page at https://www.urbansplatter.com/2026/06/why-toronto-homeowners-trust-torrhandyman-to-fix-the-things-theyve-been-ignoring/ that explained how small repairs turn into expensive disasters. That soft spot and musty smell means water is already damaging the wood. Every day you wait, the damage gets worse and the repair costs more. Do not make the same mistake I did. Call someone as soon as you notice a problem.
