Topic-icon What is the cheapest way to bridge ETH over to Linea?

3 weeks 5 days ago #5391 by Dominate
Hey everyone, I have been messing around with some DeFi stuff on Linea, but getting my funds across from Ethereum mainnet has been eating me alive in gas fees. Is there a decent bridge that does not charge an arm and a leg just to move a bit of ETH over?

Bridging from Ethereum to Linea is always going to cost something because you are paying mainnet gas no matter what, but the bridge fee itself should be minimal, and some platforms process the transfer pretty fast so you are not stuck waiting for ages. The main thing to watch out for is using a bridge that supports the tokens you actually need on the other side, because swapping after the fact adds another layer of fees that could have been avoided. There is bridge for moving funds over to Linea that keeps the extra costs low and the transaction straightforward, you can check it out here defiway.com/bridges/bridge-eth-linea-ethereum .

Keep a little ETH on the destination chain for gas before you bridge the bulk of your funds, because arriving on Linea with a pile of tokens and no way to move them is a rookie mistake.
